Class Descriptions:
Private Yoga Lessons:
A private yoga lesson offers personalized instruction tailored to your specific needs, goals, and skill level. During the session, a yoga teacher provides undivided attention, guiding you through poses, breathing techniques, and meditation practices. This individualized approach allows for adjustments to your form, customized sequences, and focused work on areas you want to improve. Private lessons are ideal for beginners seeking a strong foundation, experienced practitioners looking to deepen their practice, or individuals with specific health concerns or injuries requiring special attention.
Vinyasa Yoga:
Vinyasa yoga is Often called "flow" yoga, it creates a fluid, continuous movement throughout the practice, connecting with the breath. Each pose flows into the next, creating a dance-like sequence that builds heat, increases flexibility, and improves strength and balance. Sacred steps vinyasa practices are designed to be more on the gentle side, while still providing stretch & movement.
Imaginative Play Yoga:
This class is designed for kiddos ages 6-12. Kids will roll the yoga dice and build a story and poses with their own imaginations!
In for Yin:
Discover deep relaxation and release in our yin yoga class. This gentle practice focuses on holding passive poses for extended periods, typically 3-5 minutes. By targeting connective tissues and joints, yin yoga helps improve flexibility, reduce stress, and promote mindfulness. Suitable for all levels, this class uses props to support your body, allowing you to sink into each pose comfortably. Leave feeling refreshed, centered, and more in tune with your body and mind.
Lunchtime Stretch:
Join us for a stretch and quick movement over the lunch hour. We won't get sweaty, so you can plan to go back to the office without showering! focus will be on releasing tight muscles from sitting, standing or walking during the workday.
Ouch to Ahh:
Ouch to ahh focuses each week on one part of the body to stretch and relax. we focus on commonly problematic areas for lots of people to release tension, recover from injury or just generally keep our muscles, bones & joints healthy.
Puzzle Piece Yoga:
This is a yoga class specifically catered to our nonverbal friends but can include kiddos of varying levels of ability. We will use foam puzzle pieces with yoga poses illustrated on them to create a story together. Each child is given the opportunity to choose the piece with the pose that they feel called to and then be allowed to practice their pose before their peers are asked to join in. After everyone has been given the chance to choose their piece, we will put the puzzle together and create our very own silly story.
Mama & Babes Yoga:
Designed for mamas and babes under 5, this class will allow moms and their babies to experience a yoga flow with each other to get them both moving!
Storytime Yoga:
Designed for kiddos under 7, these sessions are styled more like traditional yoga classes, but instead of a guided meditation or spoken instructions from the teacher, Valerie will tell a story and ask the class to help build the characters and tell the story with her to match different poses to the scenarios we create.
Restorative Yoga:
Restorative yoga is a gentle, relaxing style of yoga practice.Restorative yoga focuses on deep relaxation and stress relief through passive, supported poses held for extended periods. This practice uses props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks to fully support the body, allowing for complete relaxation without strain. This slow-paced, meditative practice is suitable for all levels and is especially helpful for those seeking to balance an active lifestyle or manage stress.
Restorative Stretch Yoga:
very similar to our restorative class, restorative stretch adds in a few Yin STretch poses to deepen the stretch.
Workday Release Yoga:
This class is designed to relax and stretch you after the work day. Focus will be on stress relief and holding poses to release tight muscles from sitting, standing or walking during your job.
